Publisher: art research programme - arp

a-r-c is an on-line research-orientated journal whose purpose is to publish
papers that explore new ideas and views with regard to issues surrounding
the production of art (the communal product of artists, critics, curators,
museums, galleries and promotional enterprises) and the production of
meaning (the political and economical interface between art and its
audience). a-r-c is unashamedly political - its policy for the publication
of papers will be one that challenges artistic and ideological paradigms.

a-r-c (art-research-curating) is the first activity of arp (art research
programme) an organisation being set up as a laboratory for the generation,
development and testing of new ideas in the broad area of visual culture.

The main aim of a-r-c will be to publish research papers related to art,
critical curating, the moving image media and to new technologies in their
relation to the production of art. It will publish three issues a year and
they will have contributors from all over the world and from many
perspectives within a framework of resistance to orthodox models of art,
film and curating. The journal also will focus on current discussions and
critiques surrounding the new technologies being applied on the Internet and
in information.

a-r-c will publish the work of known as well as less known writers.
