e-Terra is an electronic scientific journal which aims to timely publish
research papers in the broad field of Earth Sciences. It was established in
2001, under the Group of Technologies of Information and Communication
(GEOTIC) of the Geological Society of Portugal.

The access to the journal is free, since the project has no commercial
purpose. All contributions for the understanding of the System Earth are
welcome. Papers can be accepted in Portuguese with extended English
abstracts and table/figures in both languages, however the use of English as
primary language is recommended as a tool to reach a broader audience.
Papers accepted for publication after peer reviewing are published in the
form of a numbered issue immediately after all necessary revisions are
provided by the authors.

Animations and other multimedia resources can be used on the online version
of the paper. A downloadable version in PDF format is also provided. A
CD-ROM version of the journal is provided to selected libraries and to the
Portuguese National Library. The site of the Journal is hosted by the
University of Minho (Braga, Portugal).
