Harrow: Original Works of Fantasy and Horror
Harrow: Original Works of Fantasy and Horror
http://www.theharrow.com/journal/index.php
Publisher: Dru Pagliassotti
The Harrow is an Open Access peer-reviewed online literary magazine
devoted to publishing original and complete works of fantasy and
horror. Young, new, and amateur writers are especially welcome to
submit their work.
Writers will participate in a formal review process and work with the
editor on any revisions that are requested before acceptance. The
Harrow is intended to be a place to begin rather than to end and
works to support writers as they develop their careers.
The Harrow seeks stories, poems, and art that fall within the fantasy
and supernatural horror genres. The plot should contain or imply the
presence of the magical or supernatural. To count as "horror," the
work must also evoke an emotion such as apprehension, dread, anxiety,
and fear. Horror does not need to shock or disgust; if it evokes a
quieter sense of the eerie or uncanny, it still counts as horror.
Conventionally structured and character-driven plots are preferred.
Manuscripts should be submitted in English.
The Harrow is currently only considering works of short-story length
or less.
