Landscape Ecology

http://www.kluweronline.com/issn/0921-2973/contents

Landscape Ecology seeks new and innovative papers that improve our
understanding of the relationship between patterns and processes, explaining
the spatial variation in landscapes at multiple scales as affected by
natural causes and human society. Because landscape ecology is a broad,
interdisciplinary topic, the journal is open to contributions that consider
the landscape as the basis of integration of knowledge.

Landscape research can be approached from natural or human sciences and
deals with the abiotic, biological, ecological or cultural aspects of
landscapes. Papers that deal with the effects of biogeography, global change
or social and economic factors altering land-use are especially desired. The
applications of landscape ecology to nature conservation, environmental
management, landscape planning and restoration are of interest. Empirical,
theoretical and methodological papers are desired if they adequately address
relationships between ecological dynamics, landscape heterogeneity, and
landscape change.

Purely descriptive papers are discouraged unless they document important and
relatively unknown landscape aspects. The journal emphasizes papers
presenting results of original research, but reviews of recent developments
in the field of landscape ecology may also be considered. Special issues and
articles devoted to specific themes will be considered by the editorial
board.

Subscribers have access to full-text articles.
