Lamination Colony is a new site dedicated to publishing quality short
fiction and other such things worth reading online by the moderately
increasing literary community. We hope to expose new, quality writers who
are doing something innovative, interesting, or at least telling a story
that stands out from places that keep printing the same similar-minded,
middle-aged, limp-wristed, tacky, chewed-to-bits crap.

We're mainly looking for narratives of the surreal, absurd, ridiculous. The
more sentimental, reflective, or hyper-cultural pieces (such as pieces that
make more references to celebrities and brands than they do unique
objects/juxtapositions) are not for us. Ever had something rejected under
the premise that it wasn't cohesive enough, or just was too odd? We want to
see it. Short stories that jab you in the throat, are abound with
peculiarity, with ideas pulled out of everyday life and altered or
reexamined, narratives that could be or are transcribed dreams: this is what
we want.

It is important to note however, that there is a fine line of distinction in
oddity: that which is done just to be unusual in and of itself, and that
which operates off of the undefinable logic underlying real life. It is
quite easy to tell the difference, and if you are just shitting around,
we'll probably know. Unless it's really good shitting around. ALSO: we're
currently desperate for a story involving a woman douching with strawberry
lemonade. You can do it.

Additionally, we are also interested in certain nonfictional essays / rants
/ top tens etc. But they need to be really good and funny and make us want
to read it over and over again before we're done. Infinitely possible, but
not as likely to be accepted as a straight-up inventive short story.
