As a student publication Macmag seeks to communicate the ideas within
and the philosophy behind the Mackintosh School of Architecture. 
Selected studio work traces student's architectural development and this
year sees the first results under guidance of a new professor.  The
twentieth issue also heralds the 150th anniversary of the Glasgow School
of Art and explores the opportunities for Glasgow as a result of its
appointment as City of Architecture and Design 1999.  Current discussion
and debate from a varied range of sources explores the past, present and
future of design that will serve to enlighten not only the student, but
the architectural profession as a whole.
