Journal of Access Services
Journal of Access Services
http://www.haworthpress.com/store/product.asp?sku=J204
Publisher: Haworth Press
This peer-reviewed quarterly journal covers the full range of access issues
affecting libraries today, including electronic/remote access as well as
traditional forms. The Journal of Access Services is the forum where
seasoned access services practitioners share their expertise and hard-earned
knowledge about this fundamental concern of librarianship to help their
colleagues understand current issues, adapt to current trends, and bring
their skills and knowledge to the next level.
An essential guide to the basic business of providing library users with
access to information, the Journal of Access Services is a unique resource
that helps librarians stay up-to-date on continuing education and
professional development in this complex and evolving field. It was the
first to examine the policies and conditions that govern the use of library
collections, services, and facilities. And as collection management
librarians develop new models of providing access to materials as a
cost-effective alternative to purchasing them, the journal keeps pace with
the evolution of theory and practice in interlibrary loan and document
delivery.
The journal includes substantive essays, articles, reviews, feature columns,
conference reports, and research results that explore the dimensions of this
expanding field of librarianship.
