This site contains the complete backfiles of the print version of The
Quarterly Journal of Economics, published by the JStor Project, from 1886
through 1988 [as of 1/20/97; the project has a moving wall -generally
three or five years- which dictates the most recent volume that will be
put online]. The project provides digital photographs of each page in each
article as well as the ability to search by full-text, author, abstract,
 and/or title.

Some titles of articles that have appeared in The Quarterly Journal of
Economics in the past include: "Forward Shifting of a Payroll Tax Under
Monopolistic Competition", "Guild Pricing in the Service Trades", and "The
Mortgage Portfolio of Mutual Savings Banks".

JStor journals are only available to those whose institutions have
purchased a site license to view and use the journals. If your institution
does not have such a license then you will not be able to access this
journal online. The JStor project homepage, however, is accessable and
includes more information about the titles contained and planned for it.
JSTOR will provide the complete runs of a minimum of 100 important journal
titles in 10-15 fields within 3 years. This collection is called
JSTOR-Phase I. In the future, we expect that there will be additional
phases of JSTOR that will include clusters of journals in specific fields.
These later phases of JSTOR will be independent of Phase I.
