The Quality of Government Institute was started in 2004 by professors Sören
Holmberg and Bo Rothstein at the Department of Political Science at Göteborg
University.

The Quality of Government Institute at Göteborg University aims at
conducting and promoting research on the causes, consequences and nature of
"good governance" or Quality of Government (QoG) - that is, trustworthy,
reliable, impartial, uncorrupted and competent government institutions.

We issue working papers, compile publicly available cross-national and
time-series data, hold regular lunch seminars, and provide other data and
literature resources useful for researchers , teachers, students, and
practitioners interested in QoG.
