STRIKERS, BOSSES SLUG IT OUT ELECTRONICALLY
A strike at the San Francisco Chronicle and the afternoon Examiner
resulted in the shutdown of two of three printing plants used by the
newspapers. Management responded by producing slimmed down electronic
editions, but now striking reporters have countered with a new
electronic publication available on the Internet called the San
Francisco Free Press. Each side is claiming its publication is being
accessed about 20,000 times a day. The San Francisco Free Press is
available on the World Wide Web at: http://www.ccnet.com/SF_Free_Press/welcome.html
