Publisher: Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, Nigeria
Sahel Medical Journal is a quarterly international Journal devoted solely
to:
(1) dissemination of information about medical sciences in Nigeria,
particularly the Sahel zone, Africa and the rest of the world,
(2) to provide a medium where national and international medical and health
organizations may relay information to medical scientists and others
interested in health care in Nigeria, Africa, and the rest of the world,
(3) it is also to serve as a forum for publications relating to
international conferences in medical and health sciences in Nigeria, and
(4) to promote inter-regional cooperation amongst medical and social
scientists engaged in health care delivery in Nigeria in particular, and
Africa in general.
The Sahel Medical Journal shall seek the following:
(a) to promote the highest ethical and scientific standards in all articles
and materials it accepts to publish,
(b) to promote interdisciplinary relationship and understanding between
health practitioners, health economists, social scientists, accountants and
consumers of health services, through commissioned papers from experts in
the fields.
This is in recognition of inadequacy of the teaching of Management Sciences
and their relationship to consumer perceptions, and psychology in present
day medical schools. Sahel Medical Journal shall seek to actively remedy the
falling standards of ethics among practitioners and students of medicine
alike, through publication of articles in medical ethics as a subject.
