The Teacher's Internet Pages' Spring/Fall depending on your hemisphere)
is now on-line. Those of you who responded to the TIPS survey of CU-See
Me users will find your replies incorporated into our feature stories; you
may also be interested in the comments by your colleagues and the
invitation from Finland for a different kind of video conferencing -- more
expensive, but perhaps the way to go for those who can afford it.
Lance Roberts provides excellent and timely information for US citizens on
taxes and how to plan your finances for working abroad. You'll also find
Richard Jones' paper "Barriers to Effective Computer-use in an
International School (Richard is IT Coord. at St. Julian's in Portugal),
Seth Ruef's description of the unfortunate side of CU-See Me and a
marvellous CU-See Me experience described by Lynne Mass.
For other curricular areas we have Odds Bodkin on using stories to teach
peace, Michelle Young with the story of one young man's heroic struggle
(multicultural ed), Gaby Geneser's example of a Web page portfolio of a
field trip, Chris Chater's Music page, Bruce Pohlmann's History and
Culture page and, soon-to-be-updated Christopher Etchell's ESL Web Guide.

* The student webzine, GOaTzine, is a series of bulletin boards designed
to be of service to international school students. Bring yours, please.
Let us know your ideas for TIPS and send us news of events and
accomplishments at your school for posting.
