TA NEWS; The Transitions Abroad Electronic Newsletter

http://www.transabroad.com

Welcome to TA NEWS, Transitions Abroad's electronic newsletter!

Most of you are receiving this because you were subscribed to CIE-NEWS,
the International Opportunities Electronic Newsletter from the University
of California, Irvine's (UCI) Center for International Education. When
CIE-NEWS was reformatted and distribution to off-campus subscribers was
discontinued, many of you wrote to express your disappointment.

Transitions Abroad invited the list to find a new home with them and
offered me the opportunity to continue as Editor. I am pleased to announce
that TA NEWS will follow in the tradition that I created with CIE-NEWS,
while providing a broader, more general format that we hope will more
specifically meet the needs of our subscribers.

I want to give former CIE-NEWS subscribers the first opportunity to remain
on the list. If you are receiving this message, it means that you are on
the TA NEWS subscriber list. You do not need to do anything more to
receive TA NEWS.

If you wish to unsubscribe, just send a message to:
  LISTSERV@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM
In the body of the message, write:
  UNSUB TANEWS-L
Do not append a signature file - and send!

** PLEASE SAVE THIS IMPORTANT MESSAGE IF YOU ARE A SUBSCRIBER. **

TA NEWS will highlight what's new in international learning opportunities
of all kinds--study abroad programs, internships, volunteer placements,
short-term jobs, and all other independent or organized travel-learning
opportunities.

The purpose of TA NEWS is to expand on the Program News & Notes section
and the resources and program directories of Transitions Abroad magazine
by providing information that's more comprehensive and up to date than a
bimonthly publication can provide. TA NEWS is currently a bimonthly
newsletter. Publication may be staggered with the magazine publications
dates in order to provide a steady source of updates on education abroad.
TA NEWS may also provide some analysis of trends in study abroad
programming: what's coming, what's passing, and who's planning to do what
when.

TA NEWS will be archived on the Transitions Abroad web site,

  http://www.transabroad.com

along with Education Abroad news and features from the magazine.

Subscribers are invited to participate. You may send news of new programs,
changes in existing programs, and suggestions--including suggestions for
future or needed programming--to:

  TANEWSL@AOL.COM

or snail mail your submissions, suggestions, or comments to:

  Transitions Abroad
  TANEWS-L
  P.0. Box 1300
  Amherst, MA 01004-1300

Subscribers are welcome to encourage others to subscribe to TA NEWS and to
Transitions Abroad magazine. Subscription information is available at the
end of each newsletter and on the Transitions Abroad web site

http://www.transabroad.com

Permission for further distribution of TA NEWS is automatically granted to
study abroad advisors at institutions of higher education. All others
must receive express permission from the TA NEWS Editor.
