In 2002 the Executive of the Water Research Commission (WRC) decided
to replace the old SA Waterbulletin with a new publication, as part of
the process of transforming the WRC into an innovative organisation
“that is continuously providing novel (and practical) ways of packaging
and transferring knowledge into technology based products for the water
sector and the community at large”.

The new publication, called The Water Wheel (symbolising the WRC as a
dynamic hub for water-centred knowledge) is aimed at the public
communication of water science and technology through popular science
articles and creative visual material.

The Water Wheel is bi-monthly magazine on water and water research
published by the South African Water Research Council (WRC), a statutory
organisation established in 1971 by Act of Parliament. Material in this
publication does not necessarily reflect the considered opinions of the
members of the WRC, and may be copied with acknowledgement of source.

Water Wheel is available free of charge as an Open Access journal on the
Internet.

A trial access can be obtained at http://aclib.sabinet.co.za/trial.html
