The Year 2000 Information Center ( http://www.year2000.com/(Link inactive 16 August 2006) )
and the Internet news site NewsLinx ( http://www.newslinx.com/ )
have combined forces to offer a free service that pushes links to Year 2000 news
directly into the e-mail in-boxes of Internet subscribers.

The two popular sites recently teamed to launched Year2000NEWS - a daily
HTML-enabled e-mail update containing links to the latest new stories
addressing the Year 2000 computing crisis. The Year2000NEWS mailings
consists of updates to the Year 2000 Information Center's popular Press
Clippings section.

The Year2000NEWS document can then be viewed using a web browser or any
e-mail package recognizing HTML.

Anyone can subscribe to Year2000NEWS by sending a blank e-mail message to:
join-year2000daily@newslinx.com

The address in the "FROM: " field of the e-mail will automatically be
added to the Year2000NEWS distribution list. People can also
subscribe by entering their e-mail address in the form in the lower
left hand column at http://www.newslinx.com/ .

The Year 2000 computing problem is a failure of the two-digit notation
system (e.g. 05/13/96) commonly used to track the date in many
software programs.
