How to...

Borrowing from Other Libraries

1. Check GEORGE first.

  • To find BOOKS, search by title, author, keyword, subject heading, MeSH
headings, or number search (e.g. call number).
  • To find JOURNALS and PERIODICALS, search in GEORGE by the journal's
title. Verify that the year, volume, and issue you need is included in the Library's
    collection.

NOTE: Ask a reference librarian if you have questions about how to begin
your research, how to find the best articles and books for your topic, or how
to find full-text articles through an online database.

2. If the material is not available in GEORGE, check the WRLC catalog.

  • To find BOOKS, search WRLC catalog by title, keyword, author, subject heading,
    or call number.
  • To find JOURNALS and PERIODICALS, search by journal title in the WRLC
catalog. Verify that the year, volume, and issue you need is included in a WRLC
    Library collection.

Consult the CLS page for instructions on how to place a CLS request
or ask a reference librarian for assistance.

Consult the WRLC page for more information about the consortium.

3. If the material is not available in either GEORGE or the WRLC Catalog,
request through Interlibrary Loan.

Submit your request to Georgetown University Library's Interlibrary Loan service.
