The following lists enumerate the retention items in Blommer that will be transferred to the WRLC Shared Collections Facility in the summer of 2023. These lists include only those titles that have never circulated in the last 10 years.
Like other Georgetown books shelved in the off-campus facility, these titles will remain part of the library’s collection and will remain discoverable in HoyaSearch and available for use. After the titles have been transferred off-campus, they can be requested through HoyaSearch. The requested title(s) will be delivered for pickup to Lauinger Library, usually within two business days.
As a reminder: retention items are defined as titles for which there are 10 or fewer copies held in US libraries and only one copy within WRLC. As part of Georgetown’s participation in WRLC, the library has committed to preserving and retaining identified retention items.
The title lists are divided by subject area, based on the item's call number:
- Anatomy
- Astronomy
- Biology
- Botany
- Chemistry
- General Science
- Geology
- Mathematics
- Microbiology
- Physics
- Physiology
- Zoology
- Other Subjects - titles falling outside the Library of Congress Science (Q) classification. These include books on medicine (R), technology (T), and other topics.
Access to the lists is restricted to Georgetown users with a valid NetID – please sign in to Georgetown Google Apps in order to view the lists.
