Recommended Reading: Black Lives, Black Stories

Montage of book covers: Light for the World to See, Around the Way Girl, and African Samurai

To honor Black History Month, the Library has a new Recommended Reading book display, with the theme "Black Lives, Black Stories."

In this display we have memoirs such as Taraji P. Henson’s Around the Way Girl, poetry collections including Kwame Alexander’s Light for the World to See, and life histories including African Samurai: The True Story of Yasuke, a Legendary Black Warrior in Feudal Japan. Visit the physical display on the third floor of Lau, or browse the Research Guide to see all of the more than 50 books in the display, plus additional videos and other online materials.

The display will be available on the third floor of Lauinger Library through March. We want to hear from you! Send us your feedback about this month's book display. In the meantime, happy browsing!
