Assistive Technology Station

The Library provides an Assistive Technology station located in the Reference area on the third floor of Lauinger Library. This station features a height adjustable desk with widescreen monitor as well as the following software:

Requesting Accommodations

Using Digital Texts

HathiTrust, the Accessible Text Request Service, requires coordinating with the Library for access. Students should contact accessservices@georgetown.edu.

A free trial from Kurzweil 3000 offers learners new multi-sensory software to read, comprehend, synthesize, apply, and demonstrate their knowledge.

Building Accessibility

Lauinger Library

The entrance to the building (facing Healy Lawn) is an unassisted (automatic) entrance. Two elevators are located to your left as you enter the building that provide access to every floor of the building. Floor maps are displayed on each floor by the elevator bays.

Wheelchair accessible bathrooms are located on the Second Floor and Fourth Floor. An All Gender bathroom is also available on Second Floor and Fourth Floor. Please note that these bathrooms do not have unassisted (automatic) entrances.

There are accessible study rooms on the second floor of the library.

Blommer Science Library

To access Blommer Science Library, enter the Reiss Science Building through the doors across from Pedro Arrupe, S.J. Hall or the entrance off Tondorf Road. Both entrances have access ramps.

Once inside, take the elevator to the 3rd floor. Blommer Science Library’s entrance will be on your left as you exit the elevator.

Bioethics Research Library

The Bioethics Research Library (BRL) is located in Healy Hall, room 102. An access ramp is available from the Library Walk entrance (map) to Maguire Hall. Maguire Hall connects directly to Healy Hall. You will enter on the ground floor of Maguire Hall. Take the elevator to the first floor and the BRL will be on the right as you exit. Use the second door with unassisted automatic entrance to enter the Library.

All Gender bathrooms are located in Maguire Hall on the ground floor, room G10.

There is no access to mezzanine level of library.
