The Woodstock College Archives contain a treasure trove of sources related to the activities of the Maryland Province of the Society of Jesus during the 19th and 20th centuries. The letters, photos, and research notes of William H. McClellan, S.J., are unique because he wore two hats at Woodstock College: one as a professor and scholar of Biblical studies, the other as the manager of the "Snake Room." He was a self trained herpetologist and ornithologist.
