We Are Georgetown is an oral history project designed to document and share the rich history and experiences of the Black community at Georgetown University.

Launched in 2019 by the Georgetown University African American Advisory Board, and now a signature program under the Georgetown University Alumni Association Black Alumni CouncilWe Are Georgetown: Celebrating Our Black History captures the rich experiences and contributions of Georgetown University’s Black alumni, faculty, staff, and students. These intergenerational interviews span the University’s undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools, telling the stories of how each of the interview subjects arrived at Georgetown, their experiences while here – including the challenges and treasured memories – and the profound influence of the University on their lives after Georgetown. For more information about this project, please contact blackalumnicouncil@georgetown.edu.
