Maps of India Digitization

Mark Giordano, Professor of Geography and Vice Dean for Undergraduate Affairs in the Walsh School of Foreign Service, collaborated with staff in the Digital Scholarship Services Unit to have his personal collection of over 200 maps of India digitized. The maps ranged in size from quite small to very oversized. The DSS unit used a variety of equipment to digitize the items, including setting up an oversize copy scanner to capture the largest maps. The digitization project was to aid in the creation of an exhibit at Whitman University where Giordano was collaborating with Art Historian Krista Gulbransen.
