Introduction to Crafting Effective Prompts in ChatGPT

Looking for a more productive way to utilize generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT? Join the School of Continuing Studies Library for an introduction to crafting productive prompts in this popular chatbot developed by OpenAI. We will discuss the need for prompt engineering, describe dominant types of prompting, and demonstrate (and have you test) characteristics of effective prompting utilizing available frameworks. Ethical incorporation of the AI-generated information within the GU context and beyond will be discussed as well. Time will be given for questions. Participants are strongly encouraged to create a free account in ChatGPT before this hands-on workshop. Also, please always check with your instructor(s) regarding permissible uses of generative AI tools in specific courses.
