Introduction to the Dorsett Loom: Weaving Basics and Techniques

Discover the art of weaving with our Introduction to the Dorsett Loom workshop! This hands-on session will introduce you to the fundamentals of using the Dorsett Loom, a versatile and user-friendly tool for creating beautiful woven textiles. In this workshop, you will:

  • Loom Overview: Learn about the Dorsett Loom’s features and functions, and get familiar with its components and how they work together.
  • Basic Weaving Techniques: Understand the essential techniques for setting up your loom, including threading, warping, and basic weaving patterns.
  • Weaving Practice: Gain practical experience by creating your own woven sample, experimenting with different patterns and techniques to see what the loom can do.
  • Project Guidance: Get tips on designing and planning your own weaving projects, and learn how to troubleshoot common issues. 

This workshop is perfect for beginners and those interested in exploring the world of hand weaving. All materials will be provided, and no prior weaving experience is required.
