Unfold the art of timeless bookbinding craftsmanship in this 3-part workshop series on hardcover bookbinding at the Maker Hub!
Led by Noah Martin, Senior Designer for Learning Ecosystems at the Red House and Founder and CEO of FM-31, this first session will focus on the overall process of creating hardcover books, aided by a curated set of historical examples from Lauinger's special collections. After this, each participant will work to create a book block using traditional sewing frames.
At the end of the session you'll leave with a fully stitched book block which you can bring to the second workshop “All About Glue”. And, if you stick it out and attend all 3 workshops, you will leave with a fully hand-bound hardcover book!
Note: Close-toed shoes must be worn in the Maker Hub. Please see the Maker Hub website for all Maker Hub rules.
