Student art from Professor Scip Barnhart’s Fall 2023 studio art course Printmaking I: Relief
This show highlights student art from Professor Scip Barnhart’s Fall 2023 studio art course Printmaking I: Relief.
This course utilizes traditional printing methods and techniques of relief images from Linoleum plates. After learning safe cutting, registration, and printing methods, students are encouraged to pursue their own personal imagery. The work in this show features a mix of work resulting from assignments as well as students' own creative choices. Students use color and texture to create depth and narrative within each work.
This video Relief Printmaking with Tyler Krasowski demonstrates the printmaking process from start to finish.
To create your own linocut prints, take a printmaking course with Professor Barnhart (ARTS 1200 or 1201) or visit the Maker Hub on the 1st floor of Lauinger Library.
