The Professor Ernst H. Feilchenfeld Memorial Book Endowment Fund was created in the 1970s in memory of Dr. Feilchenfeld, who died in 1956. It is used for foreign service acquisitions.
Dr. Feilchenfeld was born in Berlin, and studied at the university there and at the London School of Economics. He was Professor of International Organizations and Law at Georgetown University and director of the Institute of World Polity. He also taught at Harvard and Oxford. He was a consultant to the League of Nations in the 1930s and on the Board of Economic Warfare during World War II.
