On April 20th, Latin American Studies and Iberian Languages Liaison and Reference Librarian Jade Madrid interviewed Spanish writer Irene Vallejo about Papyrus: The Invention of Books in the Ancient World in the Murray Room at Lauinger Library. Papyrus, translated by Charlotte Whittle, is one of thirty new translations of Irene’s critically acclaimed work about the history of books and reading in the ancient world. During the interview, Irene spoke to a packed room with her signature, contagious enthusiasm for books and reading. Irene signed books after the interview.
