Open Access Week

Celebrate International Open Access Week from October 23–29. International Open Access Week was established by the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition along with partners in the student community in 2008 as a way to bring more awareness to the topic of Open Access, an alternative to traditional publishing, where works are freely available online without any subscription fee or login required. By making your work freely accessible to all, authors will have a broader audience, thus potentially bringing more citations and recognition to your work.

This year’s theme is “Community Over Commercialization.” By considering this topic, Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition invites you to have candid conversations about which approaches to open scholarship prioritize the best interests of the public and the academic community - and which do not.
