Library to Host Book Talk for "Rhythms of Resistance and Resilience"

The Booth Family Center for Special Collections at Lauinger Library, Georgetown University Press, and Georgetown University's Office of the President are hosting a book talk and signing to celebrate the publication of Rhythms of Resistance and Resilience: How Black Washingtonians Used Music and Sports in the Fight for Equality by Dr. Maurice Jackson, published by the Georgetown University Press. 

Dr. Mary Beth Corrigan, Librarian for Collections of Slavery, Memory, and Reconciliation, will moderate the discussion with Dr. Jackson, who teaches the Atlantic World and African-American History. Books will be available for sale. Refreshments will be served.

The event will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., in the Murray Room on the fifth floor of Lauinger Library.
