R.F. Kuang’s Babel is a gripping historical fantasy epic where language and translation are literal power fueling a ruthless British Empire.

It follows Robin Swift, an orphan brought from China, as he grapples with loyalty, language, and resistance within the oppressive system that educated him.

The novel explores colonialism, identity, and the violent cost of revolution through an intricate, emotionally charged narrative.
