UPDATE 6/9/2023: The Library's proxy server has been successfully migrated and is operating normally. If you experience any difficulties with proxied links, please contact E-Resources & Serials.
Library databases, e-journals, and e-books may be unavailable Friday June 9 2023, 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. while the Library's proxy server is being migrated. This will affect all proxied links, both on-campus and off-campus. While we hope to keep actual downtime to a minimum, users should be aware that using a URL containing "proxy.library.georgetown.edu" or "guides.library.georgetown.edu" could result in an error page or freezing/hanging during this time.
This outage will affect:
- Library databases, including Project Muse, Academic Search Premier, Business Source Complete, ABI/Inform, and all other items on the Databases A-Z List
- Library e-books, including from ProQuest Ebook Central, JSTOR, and other providers
- Library e-journal subscriptions, including Elsevier ScienceDirect, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, ACS, SpringerNature, and other vendors
Access to HoyaSearch will continue, but the full-text links in search results may not work.
On-campus users (only) may be able to continue accessing resources during the the outage by "deproxying" URLs -- removing "proxy.library.georgetown.edu" from the URL string and converting proxied hyphens to dots/periods. Examples (green text = what to change):
https://proxy.library.georgetown.edu/login?url=https://www.jstor.org
→https://www.jstor.org
https://www-jstor-org.proxy.library.georgetown.edu/
→https://www.jstor.org/
(replace hyphens with periods)
We apologize for the inconvenience. Comments and questions -- please contact E-Resources & Serials.
