Join the Georgetown community to help close this gender gap on Wikipedia by increasing the representation of underrepresented groups — in both Wikipedia content and contributors — on topics such as women in politics, women in STEM, and women in the arts.
This program will be occurring during Georgetown University’s Tech & Society Week and during Women’s History Month.
Did you know that only 15% of contributors to Wikipedia are women?
Did you know that women only appear in just over 20% of all images of human beings on Wikimedia Commons?
Did you know efforts are happening around the world to address the “gender gap” on Wikipedia?
No Wikipedia editing experience necessary. There will be hands-on training provided by representatives from Wikimedia District of Columbia.
