Make Your Own Japanese Stab Bound Book!

BookBinding Workshop

Experience the intersection of craft, history, and storytelling in this hands-on bookbinding workshop led by Elizabeth Kean, Maker Hub volunteer alum and Creative Writing graduate. This workshop will introduce you to the Japanese stab binding technique while exploring the rich tradition of bookmaking.

Participants get hands-on experience crafting your own hardcover Japanese stab-bound booklet, perfect for journaling, poetry, or creative writing.

Unfinished projects may be stored in the Maker Hub until the Summer.  We encourage all participants to continue visiting the Maker Hub to work on these and share these creative works with our community.

No prior bookbinding experience is necessary; snacks and all bookbinding materials will be provided. Close-toed shoes are required in the Maker Hub. Please see the Maker Hub website for all rules.
