Join us for the Georgetown Summer Wikipedia Edit-a-thon hosted virtually — Editing for Equity: Closing the Wikipedia Gender Gap. Continuing the efforts from the Georgetown University Wikipedia Edit-a-thon hosted during Women’s History Month, we invite you to join the Georgetown community to help close this gender gap on Wikipedia by increasing the representation of underrepresented groups — in both Wikipedia content and contributors — on topics such as women in politics, women in STEM, and women in the arts.
- 11-12 pm: Training* (encourage all new editors to attend) — presented by WikiDC
- 12-2 pm: Wikipedia Edit-a-thon
You can register for the event through this link.
No Wikipedia editing experience necessary. There will be hands-on training provided by representatives from Wikimedia District of Columbia.
New editors are strongly encouraged to attend the synchronous training session provided from 11 am - 12 pm (on the same Zoom link you’ll receive when you register), or you can watch this training video created by Wikimedia District of Columbia anytime.
As part of a collaboration across the University, Georgetown University is also partnering with Wikimedia District of Columbia.
