kintsugi Workshop, September 2024

This hands-on workshop introduced students to kintsugi, an ancient Japanese art that repairs broken ceramics by not only mending the cracks, but unapologetically accentuating the beauty of the brokenness as part of the piece’s unique identity. DCC, Campus Ministry, and MSB collaborated to welcome kintsui practitioner Joanne Ke Edelman (G’12, G’23) to campus to lead students in this practice, challenging the perception of perfectionism.
