Digital Scholarship Services is excited to announce six refreshed and enhanced spaces on Lauinger’s first floor. Located at the back of the Gelardin Center, the new Digital Media Studios will replace the previous editing rooms with boosted technology and new equipment to help you create, edit, and experience all forms of media.

  • In the Digitization Studio, you can digitize print materials and other legacy media like vinyl records, VHS tapes, and cassettes.
  • Media Editing Studio 1 and 2 each has a Mac studio and a full suite of software for editing audio, video, and images.
  • The Podcasting Studio is set up with a Mac as well as mics and recording equipment, allowing you to record and edit podcasts with ease.
  • The Gaming and VR Studio gives you the chance to play on a PC, PS4, Mac, or VR headset.
  • And the Production Studio has studio lights and a backdrop perfect for photography or shooting videos.

To use these rooms, you’ll need to make a reservation through the links above (or through the Digital Media Studios page) and then check out a key from the circulation desk to let yourself into the space. Anyone in the Georgetown community can book the studios for up to 3 hours per day anytime the circulation desk is open.
