The Library Showcase Needs Your Vote!

Library Showcase wordmark on blue background.

The Library is excited for you to see the 25 incredible projects added to the Library Showcase in Spring 2025 and Fall 2024. The variety and quality of the work created by our students, faculty, and staff using library resources, spaces, and guidance from library staff never ceases to amaze us. Please take some time to experience the videos, research papers, theses, animation, StoryMap websites, and outstanding Maker Hub creations!

The Storymap sites created after attending workshops with the Library’s Digital Scholarship staff, Mike Matason and Megan Martinsen are extraordinary. By including images and maps with data, historical content, and extensive research materials, the sites created will engage and educate you.

You will also be impressed by the incredible documentary shorts produced with guidance and instruction from Digital Media Specialist, Barrinton Baynes. The three stories from students in the Spring 2024 cohort of Professor Marc Howard's Prison Reform Project "Making an Exoneree" course and program could literally change lives.

You will also enjoy seeing the wide variety of Maker Hub creations, from beautiful laser-cut designs, woodworking projects, a tracker for the G2 bus, a quilt and CNC-cut topographic map, and dresses inspired by classical music and the shape of music notes. There are also several research papers and theses that relied heavily on library databases, primary resources, and consultation from library staff.

How to Vote

After you’ve perused the eclectic and impressive new additions to the Showcase, help honor these outstanding projects by selecting your favorite for the Voters’ Choice Award. We will be collecting votes until July 24th. Winners of the Voters’ Choice Award and the Library Staff Pick will be announced in the Library’s August E-Newsletter.
