Join the Library February 9-13, 2026 in celebrating International Love Data Week! This year’s theme, “Where’s the Data?” invites participants to consider data’s journey from collection through storage and preservation.
Throughout the week, there will be an interactive display in the Lauinger Library lobby, where librarians and staff will share a fun data activity demonstrating data collection and visualization.
In addition to this display, the Library will host workshops designed for campus community members at all experience levels to explore the power of data and digital media tools:
Monday, 2/9, 2:00-3:00pm: Intro to StoryMaps, Online
Tuesday, 2/10, 3:00-4:00pm: Data Visualization for Total Beginners, Dubin Room
Wednesday, 2/11, 3:00-4:00pm: Text Mining for Total Beginners, Dubin Room
Thursday, 2/12, 11:00am-12:00pm: VR Technologies Open House, Idea Lab
Friday, 2/13, 12:00-1:00pm: Intro to Digital Maps and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Online
Love Data Week was established in 2016 as Love Your Data Week. Originally created in the United States, it quickly grew to an international event in which a wide range of institutions, organizations, scholars, students, and other data lovers could celebrate their data.
