Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Chief Medical Advisor to the President, joined a panel of distinguished panelists at the opening reception for the Georgetown Library’s “Memorializing COVID-19: Five Years On” exhibit on March 14, 2025.
The reception saw Fauci, Dr. Emily Mendenhall, Dr. Rebecca Katz, Dean Christopher King (School of Health), and Dean Joel Hellman (SFS) each reflecting on their personal experiences from COVID’s outbreak, public health communication, and the post-quarantine sociopolitical climate.
After hearing remarks, guests visited the exhibit in Lauinger Library’s fourth-floor community gallery, which featured images, narratives, and cultural artifacts preserved by Georgetown University scholars and archivists from the onset of the pandemic.
The exhibit will be on display until April 15 and can be virtually explored here.
