Latinx Heritage Month (September 15-October 15) is a time to recognize and honor the histories and cultures of Latinx people in the United States. Here at the Library, we are honoring Latinx Heritage Month with the book display Bought in Buenos Aires (@ the International Book Fair).
Jade Madrid, our Latin American Studies and Iberian Languages Liaison & Reference Librarian, attended the The International Book Fair of Buenos Aires in April 2024 in order to purchase materials for library collections. This trip was supported by Book Fair, Georgetown’s Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) and the Georgetown Americas Institute (GAI).
At the fair, Jade was able to acquire titles to support the teaching and research needs of the Georgetown community, such as:
- Borges babilónico: Una enciclopedia by Jorge Schwartz (2023)
- Books by contemporary Argentine writers, including Mariana Enríquez, Leila Guerreiro and Selva Almada
