Recommended Reads: Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage

Come celebrate Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month at Lauinger Library! Our Recommended Reading display, located between the circulation and reference desks, has a wide selection of books for check-out. On display are titles to help with research, like Killing the Model Minority Stereotype, Global Asian American Popular Cultures or Yellow: Race in America Beyond Black and White.

You can also enjoy popular titles, including fiction by Asian American authors like The Tiger Flu by Larissa Lai and Little Gods by Meng Jin, or memoirs such as They Called Us Enemy, George Takei’s graphic novel about growing up in a Japanese-American internment camp.

Find movies, videos, podcasts and ways to get engaged on the accompanying AAPI Heritage research guide.

Along with the recommended reading display, the library is happy to announce our Asian American & Pacific Islander Toolkit. This companion to our Anti-Racism Toolkit is a curated collection of resources about anti-Asian racism. Here you can find books, videos, podcasts, and articles on a variety of research topics and areas of interest including lived experiences of different AAPI communities.
