Reserve What You Need, Protect What You Have

Danny "DJ" Martins, a Hispanic man in his 20s, holds a portable charger in the Library's equipment cache.

Danny “DJ” Martins is the Library’s dedicated equipment manager overseeing Lauinger’s wide selection of equipment available to students, faculty, and staff, and he has some tips on checking out what you need from the Lau3 service desk and safeguarding your stuff this finals season!

Power up. The Library has chargers for USB-C and Lightning devices, Mac computers, as well as extension cords and Omnicharge Portable Power Banks so you can focus on your books and not your battery life.

Nail your media projects. You can also check out cameras, projectors, speakers, lights–anything you need to polish up your final presentation or take some fun end-of-semester portraits on Healy Lawn.

Log off. When using a Library desktop computer or your personal device, always log out of all accounts when you are finished with your work. Always protect your usernames and passwords from compromise and prevent unwanted activity and theft from your private accounts.

Put your name on it. Write your name on your laptop charger and any other generic items! That way, it’ll be easier to identify if you leave it in the Library and need to pick it up from our Lost and Found.

Keep things close by. Never leave your devices (or other valuables such as wallets and laptop chargers) unattended in the Library.

Lock it up. If you need to take a break, either take your devices with you or use one of the Library's Lock’n’Charge stations located on Lau 1 near the Gelardin Center or Lau 2 near the vending machines—they will keep your devices safe and recharge them at the same time!
