Angela Davis Laser Cut Stamp

This project is about making a thing that showcases one of my favorite writers and activists: Angela Davis. The purpose of the stamp is to make a a ton of prints for my friends to spread awareness of a key figure in the Black Power movement of the 60s and 70s. Angela Davis inspires me to keep doing social justice work, so I'm excited to put her face and a quote from her everywhere I can. I learned how difficult Adobe products are to use and there is an incredibly high learning curve. However, since Adobe products are the best tool we have for creating designs for the laser cutter and other MakerHub machines, this process made me think about how we can try to make these tools available to as many people as possible. Thus, during this project process, I was thinking how useful it would be if Adobe products were one-time fee or free for people outside the university space to use. I'm thinking about how to run workshops to help others make stamps and how to make laser cutters more accessible to more people.
