This is an original artwork - 2ft by 1ft - that is entirely laser-cut and friction fit, made with blue translucent acrylic, walnut wood, and birch wood. The work depicts the New York City and Washington DC skylines reflecting each other in opposing wood tones. Everything in the project is friction fit together with no glue, including all of the letters within the skylines and the skylines themselves within the acrylic background. To make this project, I used Adobe Illustrator to design the skylines, words, and enable the friction fitting.
