Digital Scholarship Services leverages technology to facilitate and foster multidisciplinary inquiry, research, creativity, and learning.
Mission
- Provide resources, services, and spaces for the entire Georgetown University community to develop digital skills and digital literacies.
- Empower our community to create projects that enhance learning, advance research, and express creativity.
- Cultivate community with our spaces, workshops, and programs.
- Support and collaborate on all stages of the project lifecycle: from initial ideation, to production, dissemination, and preservation.
Values
Inclusion: We’re here to support the entire Georgetown community, novice to expert, all departments, any major, and any school.
Collaboration: We know that digital scholarship projects work best with a variety of collaborators. We aim to be connectors, partners, and contributors. We bring people together from across campus and beyond, enabling interdisciplinary inquiry and creativity.
Stewardship: We believe research outputs and digital cultural heritage materials should be well cared for and made as widely accessible as possible. We strive to make it possible for research to be replicated by scholars around the world, and for our digital content to be available for future generations.
Learning: We value learning above perfection. We’re not afraid of failure. We’re excited, rather than daunted, that there is always something new to learn.
