Orbital Sander

orbital sander

The DeWalt DWE6423 Orbital Sander is a hand-held tool that works by rotating a sanding disc elliptically to create a smooth surface. You can even use them to remove rust or paint. If you need a smooth surface in a short time, an orbital sander might be your best bet.

The orbital sander in the Maker Hub must always be connected to the Festool Dust Collector when in use. In addition, due to the noise generated by the sander, it must be used outside of open hours. Please schedule a consultation to use the orbital sander.

What you should know

In general, there are some things to keep in mind before you start your project. It is best to apply even pressure across the pad of an orbital sander. This ensures there will be no divots and swirls on the flat surface you are working on. Before you begin working with an orbital sander, be sure to wear a dust mask and protective glasses to keep yourself safe. Work in a well-ventilated area, and remember to empty your sander's dust bag before using it or connect the sander to a vacuum or dust collector.
