New Tech Space on Lau 1

This semester Georgetown University Library's Digital Scholarship Services launched three new technology spaces to support teaching, research, and learning. A high-powered computer that pushes the boundaries of performance (ISIDORE), a self-service digitization lab that democratizes access to high quality digitization equipment, and a virtual reality station that transports us to new realms are all available to Georgetown faculty, staff and students on Lauinger Library’s first floor.

ISIDORE

Are you ready to take your research endeavors to the next level?  Look no further than ISIDORE (Idea Station with Interdisciplinary Data cOmputer for Research and Education), your ultimate research ally when working with data. ISIDORE is not just any computer; it's a high-performance computer with a large monitor and state-of-the-art data analysis and visualization software, including the new-to-the-Library software program Atlas.ti for qualitative data analysis. With ISIDORE, you have the computing might to tackle massive, intricate datasets like never before. ISIDORE is located in the Gelardin Center on Lau 1. To ensure you have access to ISIDORE, simply make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance. Whether you're a student with a passion for exploration or a faculty member pushing the boundaries of knowledge, ISIDORE is here to make working with data easier and faster than ever before.

Digitization Hub

Scan, Convert, Share: Step into a world where you can effortlessly transform cherished memories, old lectures, historic recordings, and more into digital objects you can use and share. At the Digitization Hub, you have the power to scan documents and photographs, and convert your VHS tapes, MiniDV tapes, vinyl records, and audio cassettes into digital formats. You can find the Digitization Hub in Suite 7 within the Gelardin Center. Excited to get started? Make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance. Need some help? We've got you covered. Virtual Reality Station

Are you ready to embark on a voyage into the realms of imagination and innovation? Look no further than our newly refreshed Virtual Reality Station. While the Virtual Reality Station isn't brand new, it has received a makeover with a powerful new computer and updated VR experiences. The Virtual Reality Station is located in the Idea Lab on Lau 1.  Booking the space for yourself or scheduling a class visit is easy. Simply email us at digitalscholarship@georgetown.edu.
