G2 Bus Board

The G2 bus is the only Metrobus line that connects commuting students directly to campus, but it only arrives every 30 minutes, making missing it catastrophic. So that I never miss the G2 again, I made the G2 Bus Board, which tracks the current location of westbound G2 buses. I built this board using woodworking, laser cutting, LED lights, and a Raspberry Pi computer. I was really proud of my ability to successfully create this tracker, as I had only just learned how to woodwork and had never before used a Raspberry Pi or the WMATA tools needed to track the G2. The final product is a real testament to what can be achieved with a passion for public transit and some help from your peers.
