Georgetown Across Time

Georgetown Across Time is a website art installation that visually compares current Georgetown sites with photos of the same site from the University Archives. It serves as a representation of how our University's landscape has evolved over time, both in the similarities and differences that have arisen. With the help of University Archivist Lynn Conway I was able to obtain pre-1923 photographs and, using a rental camera from the Lauinger Library service desk, replicate them as best I could. I created the website with the help of the Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship who provided me with a domain to make the website on so that I could easily display the photos side-by-side and possibly even create other installations in the future. Photography has always been a passion hobby for me so being able to incorporate it into course material was an exciting and rewarding experience!
